Thanks Mona and Tracy. I love turtles and their logs! I have to wait at least 3 weeks according to a gal at Richeson Co. So I give it at least that long. My harp will be ready in 2-3 weeks. I can hardly stand the wait!!! I'll post size on the post- totally forgot.
He's a very handsome turtle! I love how he's stretching his neck out to investigate! Have you thought of a title yet? If he was on his back, I'd call it "Pilates". But as he's upright, maybe "Upward Dog" or "Morning Yoga?"
Thanks Gary, Barbara, and Deb. No, he hasn't got a title yet- I haven't had time to even think about one! Just finished another piece yesterday- thinking I may enter it in BIA possibly, not sure, so won't post it for awhile until I decide about that... Yup, Gary- these minis have "got" me!
I love to paint and I've found these miniatures are right up my alley. I love painting these little jewels.

A traditional miniature painting is defined by both size and technic. A true miniature is 25 square inches or less, and is highly detailed, able to withstand magnification and still look good, and generally the subject should be 1/6th scale or smaller. The origins of miniatures are ancient- originally illuminations in handwritten/made books, and later the beautiful miniature portraits that were carried and cherished by people before there was photography. True miniatures are tiny jewels of the artworld.

Looking good Carol!
Thanks Pat- I can't wait until I can varnish him- think his colors will really "pop"...
How absolutely charming Carol - how I do love your little paintings!!!
This is lovely Carol! A very magical feeling in it. How long do you wait before varnishing?
Beautiful piece Carol - what size is it? Gorgeous turtle! Big congratulations on having your work accepted as well - not at all surprised :)
Your harp is looking amazing - do you know when it will be finished?
